Equipment
We have the latest, highest quality, professionally maintained equipment so you can rely on the recording to run smoothly and be of the highest standard. We record to high definition digital multitrack which gives us the flexibility to remix and adjust the sound at any time. Our new recording set-up is prewired with all the equipment built-in, which allows added reliability and allows quick set-up times. A list of our equipment can be found on the Gear list page and caters for most needs. Other equipment can be hired in to cover any specific requirements.
Exceptional reliability
Unlike many recording companies we have additional measures in place to ensure that any potential problems are covered. Power cuts can cause loss of data and to avoid this we use uninterruptible power supplies which provide backup electricity to our equipment and allow us to continue recording. We record to more than one recorder, and carry replacements of all essential pieces of equipment, so that in the unlikely event of a machine failing we then have a safety copy of the audio and the recording process is not hindered.

Approach
All our engineers are producers as well as musicians. We can follow and mark up a score to suggest where improvements can be made and takes/patches should be rerecorded.
We believe in musicality and creativity before technology, that the equipment is there as a means to capture the performance, not hinder it. We also believe that there are as many ways to create a sound as there are interpretations of a musical score and so we tailor our recordings to the performer preference as well as the repertoire and situation. Our flexible approach also means that we adapt out technique depending of the circumstances. For example, using discrete microphone techniques or slinging when microphones need to be out of sight, such as on video shoots.
We also realise the importance of communication and cultivating a relaxed and comfortable environment to allow the musician to be as focussed on the performance as possible, yet we ensure the schedule is met. As musicians ourselves we are aware of when a break is needed and will be flexible with timing to suit the performer.
Details
We are happy to organise any detail associated with recordings such as finding and arranging a venue and hiring equipment. This frees up the artist to concentrate on the music without added stress. We can also offer complete CD packages, providing every service from CD concept through to final artwork, mastering, copyright and duplication.
